I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where my second home was Carolina Bible Camp. Spending a few weeks there each summer for over a decade—first as a camper, then on staff—gave me a lifelong foundation of faith and community. Around that same time in the mid-90s, my tech journey began. I spent most of my late teens writing HTML by hand and building PCs out of spare parts. Then, at 20, I packed up and moved to Abilene, Texas, kicking off a winding journey that definitely didn't follow a traditional path.
Along the way, I attended Abilene Christian University, worked a variety of jobs to pay the bills, and ultimately enlisted in the Navy. I spent my first year as a technician aboard a submarine before serving as a Quartermaster Third Class Petty Officer on the USS Gunston Hall—a massive amphibious transport ship. Handling the navigation charts and standing watch on the bridge was a completely different kind of technical challenge than the computers I grew up with. My time in the military taught me a lot about discipline, resilience, and the value of a really good story shared over long deployments.
Returning to civilian life, I returned to Abilene, Texas, and then earned my degree in Computer Administration from TSTC. I eventually moved into IT management. The following years brought my proudest milestone: starting a family and welcoming my daughter, Lauren. When the unpredictability of 2020 brought an unexpected layoff, I decided it was time to bet on myself. I launched my own IT and security business, turning a global curveball into the most rewarding chapter of my career so far.
While I love what I do, I’ve always been more than just a "tech guy." When I’m off the clock, you can usually find me spending time with friends, shooting a game of pool, or planning my next road trip—my ultimate goal is to visit all 50 states. I’m also a massive Harry Potter fan (I actually used to help run a major fan site back in the day, so I will dominate at trivia night) and I love getting outdoors for some camping, hiking, or swimming.
Today, I’m happily settled in Fort Worth, carrying a "local-first" mindset into my business and staying active in my church. Life right now is about intentional growth: building my business, prioritizing my health and fitness, and soaking up every moment I can with Lauren. Ultimately, I’m looking for the right partner to share the journey, build a life with, and create a family together.
